Arsenal secured their first victory in the Premier League since beating Manchester United on New Year’s Day with a 4-0 victory against Newcastle.
After a lacklustre first half from Mikel Arteta’s men where Newcastle gave a good account of themselves, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headed home the opener from Nicolas Pepe’s floated ball.
Pepe then went from provider to scorer by finishing Bukayo Saka’s low cross from close range after the Arsenal youngster had delightfully nutmegged Valentino Lazaro, before Mesut Ozil added a third and Alexandre Lacazette a fourth in injury time.

And Alexandre Lacazette ended a goalscoring duck of his own in the fifth minute of injury time to round off the victory
Dani Ceballos started his first Premier League game for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta and pulled the strings in the midfield
Those problems became chances when Longstaff’s scuffed effort was deflected off Ceballos but saved by Bernd Leno
Saint-Maximin then got the better of Ceballos but his cut back was put wide by Joelinton when the striker was well placed
But Arsenal came to life in the final 10 minutes of the first half, with Mesut Ozil at the heart of the home side’s attacking moves
And as a result Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Eddie Nketiah and Shkodran Mustafi all spurning half-chances before the break
Arsenal started the second half the brighter and nearly took the lead when Nketiah clipped the bar after meeting Pepe’s cross
But Arsenal would then eventually take the lead when Aubameyang rose highest at the back post to nod home Pepe’s cross
Pepe then netted the second having assisted the first with a low finish after Saka had nutmegged Valentino Lazaro
Saint-Maximin nearly halved the deficit after the Gunners made a mistake near their penalty area but hit the post
And the news got even worse for Steve Bruce late on when defender Ciaran Clark had to go off the pitch injured
