Andreas Christensen looks set to be fit for Chelsea‘s showdown with Tottenham this weekend after reportedly jetting off to Milan to have a face mask fitted.

The Danish defender broke his nose after getting an accidental elbow to the face in a clash with Anthony Martial during Monday night’s defeat by Manchester United.

But he has gone the extra yard by traveling to Italy to see a specialist on Wednesday, according to The Athletic.

He has had a special mask fitted that will allow him to continue playing, and he managed to get through a training session with it on for the first time on Thursday.

Christensen had to be taken off at half time at Stamford Bridge as he was bleeding into his mouth.

It is not yet clear how long he will be forced to wear the protective mask for.

The 23-year-old will become the latest in a long line of Chelsea players who have had to play while wearing a mask in recent years.

Christensen has started Chelsea’s last five Premier League games and will be desperate to line up against rivals Spurs on Saturday.

The two meet at Stamford Bridge at lunchtime, with Frank Lampard’s side just a point ahead of their opponents in fourth.
