Daichi Kamada scored a hat-trick in 53 minutes as Eintracht Frankfurt thumped RB Salzburg 4-1 at Commerzbank Arena. 

Filip Kostic added a fourth on 56 minutes but Hee-Chan Wang netted an 85th-minute consolation goal to provide the Austrian club with a glimmer of hope.

Sporting Lisbon took a significant step towards the Europa League last 16 on Thursday by clinching a 3-1 victory in their round of 32 first leg clash with Istanbul Basaksehir. 

The Portuguese club raced into a 3-0 lead courtesy of goals from Sebastian Coates, Andraz Sporar and Luciano Vietto, but Edin Visca’s late penalty make Silas wary ahead of the second leg in Turkey.

Malmo took an unlikely lead at Wolfsburg thanks to Isaac Kiese Thelin’s penalty. Josip Brekalo responded just two minutes later and Thelin’s joy turned to despair when he diverted into his own net to give the Bundesliga side a one-goal advantage heading into the second leg.   

AZ Alkmaar and LASK played out a 1-1 draw in Holland Teun Koopmeiners’ 86th-minute effort cancelled out Marko Raguz’ first-half effort.
