‘There is no point for me to leave… everyone is happy with me at the club’: Alexandre Lacazette denies he will depart Arsenal if they don’t secure Champions League football

  • Alexandre Lacazette has emphatically denied talk that he could leave Arsenal
  • His future, along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s, has been up in the air
  • Mikel Arteta’s side are desperate to secure Champions League football

Alexandre Lacazette has given a huge hint that he will stay at Arsenal even if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

There has been plenty of talk that both Lacazette and fellow star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could leave the club if they don’t take their place back among Europe’s elite.

The Gunners have been without Champions League football for the past three seasons and they are in real danger of missing out again, sitting seven points off top four in the Premier League.

But Lacazette has emphatically shot down the speculation: ‘I don’t know about this.

‘I have a contract with the club, there is no point for me to leave, everyone is happy with me at the club.’

This news will come as a massive boost to Arsenal and their fanbase as they look to rebuild under new manager Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners have endured an extremely difficult season but there are signs they are starting to turn a corner after winning three on the bounce last week.

Arsenal are looking to seal their place in the last-16 of the Europa League on Thursday at home to Olympiacos – they hold a 1-0 advantage thanks to Lacazette’s strike in Athens.
