Inter Milan ‘looking to sign Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri in the summer’ as Antonio Conte eyes reunion with Chelsea left backs

Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte reportedly wants to sign one of Chelsea duo Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri in the summer.

With Conte realising Inter could be short in the wing back positions next season, he is eyeing extra strength in depth as they look to continue to close the gap with Juventus in Serie A.

And according to Italian publication Tuttosport, Conte would like to bring in either Alonso or Palmieri in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso is wanted by Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte in the summer

The San Siro outfit started out the season with Kwadwo Asamoah and Antonio Candreva as regular wing backs in the 3-5-2 system but the former has suffered with injuries while the latter turns 33 years soon.

Ashley Young was signed in January on a permanent basis from Manchester United to bolster the defence, while Cristiano Biraghi and Victor Moses were brought in on loan.

However, reports claim Biraghi and Moses are expected to return to their parent clubs, while Asamoah’s future is uncertain.

Therefore, Conte could be short of options in the wing back department heading into next season.
