Has Willian’s wife let slip that he will be leaving Chelsea this summer? Video shows Vanessa Martins telling their daughters ‘it’s not been easy… our days are numbered’ with winger being linked to rivals Arsenal and Tottenham

  • Chelsea winger Willian, 31, is out of contract at the end of the season
  • Willian wants a three-year deal at Stamford Bridge but Chelsea are offering two
  • Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping close tabs on Willian’s contract situation

Willian’s wife Vanessa Martins has hinted the Chelsea star could end his seven-year stay in west London by telling their kids ‘it’s not been easy but good things are on the way’.

The 31-year-old Brazilian is out of contract in the summer and is yet to agree new terms on a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping tabs on Willian’s contract situation with the north London duo ready to pounce should the winger become available on a free transfer.

And Willian’s partner has hinted the Chelsea star could be on the move come the summer with their kids keen on staying in London.

Willian’s wife said on Instagram before Chelsea’s home clash with Everton: ‘Going to game, not been easy, days are numbered… but god is marvellous, good things on the way.’

She then asks her daughter if she likes living in London to which she replies: ‘Love London? Yes.’

Willian and Chelsea are said to be unable to agree on the length of a potential new contract with the Brazil star wanting a three-year deal.

Chelsea, however, will only offer the wideman a two-year deal due to the fact he turns 32 in August.

Willian tried to clear up his wife’s comments following Chelsea’s emphatic 4-0 win over Everton.

Speaking to ESPN-Brasil, Willian said of his future: ‘Look, I always like to make it very clear the respect I have for this club, the affection I have for Chelsea too.

‘Regardless of my situation, whether I’ll stay or not, one thing I can say: I’ll always try to do my best, give my best on the pitch for this team.

‘There’s really no offer from any club. So I wanted to make this very clear, that I’m still a Chelsea player, and I’ll always try to do my best until the end of my contract. Whether I stay or not, we’ll see that in the future.

‘We really like London, I’ve said this many times. It’s a city that my family and I love to live in, we love the city. We love the city and I really don’t know why she posted it. It really is because the situation of the contract here isn’t easy.

‘But I hope that in the next few weeks or months this can be sorted. And then you’ll know if I’ll stay or not. But what I can say is that I’ll always try to do my best for the team.

‘I still don’t know. There’s nothing with any team. There’s no offer from any team. My negotiation for now is with Chelsea. There’s still nothing concrete from any team. And the situation with Chelsea is still that way. Chelsea offered me two, I demanded three, and it stopped there. There’s nothing much.’

Willian showed he is still capable of impressing in the Premier League on Sunday as the Brazilian scored and claimed an assist in Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Everton.
