Real Madrid outcast Luka Jovic attracting interest from clubs across Europe including Napoli after being ‘forgotten by Zinedine Zidane’

  • Napoli are among the clubs contemplating a summer move to sign Luka Jovic
  • The Real Madrid striker has played just 770 minutes since joining from Frankfurt
  • Jovic’s relationship with Zinedine Zidane has come under strain in recent weeks

Napoli are considering a move for Luka Jovic with the striker having been ‘forgotten’ by Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, according to Diario AS

The 22-year-old has failed to cement his place in the Los Blancos first XI after making a summer move from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth 60 million euros.

The Serbian has played just 770 of 3,540 minutes available, participating in just 21.75% of Real Madrid’s season.

Jovic has been fit all season stands 19th in the list of Madrid minutes played. Substitute goalkeeper Alphonse Areola has played 96 minutes fewer than the Red Star Belgrade academy graduate.

Moreover, Jovic has provided two goals and two assists this season, participating in a goal every 192.5 minutes on average.

The forward netted 27 goals in 48 appearances during the 2018-19 season but has been unable to dislodge Karim Benzema, Zidane’s preferred option.

Zidane’s relationship with Jovic is thought to have come under further strain when he left the Bosnia-born star out of the squad in matches against Barcelona and Real Betis.

Jovic is represented by Fali Ramadani, an agent who also works with Napoli stars Kalidou Koulibaly, Nikola Maksimovic and Diego Demme, and this could prove conducive to a deal being agreed.
