West Brom are interested in completing a permanent deal for midfielder Filip Krovinovic if they win promotion to the Premier League.

The Croatia international has impressed during his season-long loan from Benfica, helping West Brom to second in the Championship – a point adrift of leaders Leeds – before the coronavirus crisis meant football was suspended earlier this month.

Clubs’ transfer plans are currently on hold due to COVID-19, with no decision currently possible on a definitive return to action, because of the spread of the disease.

Yet if the season resumes and Albion are able to clinch promotion, boss Slaven Bilic has indicated his wish to keep Krovinovic, 24, at The Hawthorns.

Benfica’s original asking price for Krovinovic was thought to be have been around the £11million mark, which Albion would hope to negotiate down.

The player has made 31 appearances in the Championship so far this season and has been integral to West Brom’s success this season. 

He has scored twice in the league and has notched a further four assists.
