When asked about Martinez during an Instagram Live, Lukaku said: ‘Amazing, the guy is really a beast.

He added: ‘He is doing so well, he keeps improving, I love him.’

Argentine international Martinez is highly valued by Barcelona, with the La Liga club pursuing him as a potential long-term replacement for the ageing Luis Suarez.

The 22-year-old has already played alongside Lionel Messi for Argentina and could be tempted by the prospect of linking up with his compatriot at club level.

Having started out at Racing Club, Martinez made the switch to Inter in 2018 and has proceeded to produce some impressive performances.

It is believed that Barcelona would be willing to offer him a contract offer worth £9m a year to attempt to lure him over to the Camp Nou.
