Harry Redknapp thinks Harry Kane would be a ‘great fit’ for Manchester United but believes it would take a ‘crazy offer’ for Tottenham to part with their star man.

The striker has previously admitted he would be open to leaving Spurs if they didn’t progress as a team and Sportsmail revealed the England captain is now open to a world record £200million move to Old Trafford.

And Redknapp believes it would take a sum in that region for the club to part with him.

Harry Redknapp believes Spurs striker Harry Kane would be a great fit at Manchester United

But the 73-year-old does not think a move to United would necessarily be a step-up for the striker.

‘He would be a great fit for Man United, he’d be a great fit for any team… but Man United at the moment are not better than Tottenham,’ he told talkSPORT

‘I wouldn’t say there’s much between them, both teams are trying to get into the top four.

‘Whether Real Madrid or Barcelona came in, he might fancy a move like that one day.

‘But at the moment he belongs to Tottenham, and unless Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy decide to cash in if it’s a crazy offer and rebuild the team with that money, unless Jose says, “I’ve got three players here we can sign and build a better team with”, then I’m sure he’ll stay at Tottenham.’

Redknapp was also adamant that there’s no better striker than Kane currently playing in England.

‘Harry Kane is a special player, he’s the best centre forward certainly in the Premier League and of his type I don’t think there’s a better centre forward anywhere.

‘Okay, he’s not Messi, he’s not Ronaldo, but as a centre-forward that does what he does, there isn’t anyone better.’

While the former Spurs manager is confident the forward will remain in North London, Gary Neville claimed the 26-year-old ‘opened the door’ to his exit when answering a question on his future during an Instagram Live interview with Jamie Redknapp.

Kane said: ‘It’s one of those things, I couldn’t say yes or no. I love Spurs. If I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or moving in the right direction, I’m not someone who would stay just for the sake of it. I’m an ambitious player.’

The striker has 17 goals and two assists in 25 games across all competitions this season despite not featuring since New Year’s Day following hamstring surgery.
