The 25-year-old came on as a second half-substitute at Anfield, netting two goals and assisting another as Atleti defeated Liverpool 3-2 in the Champions League last-16 second leg.

Llorente donated his shirt to ACB as part of their ‘La Mejor Asistencia’ initiative, founded to help Spain during the pandemic. The jersey was sold for €8,100 (approximately £7,000), raising important funds for the charity.

Spain has been one of the worst affected European countries, recording over 172,000 coronavirus cases and 18,000 deaths.

Multiple Spanish sporting stars have donated items to be auctioned off, among them was Formula One driver Carlos Sainz Jr who gifted one of his race-worn jumpsuits.

Elsewhere, trainers signed by late NBA star Kobe Bryant were donated.

The shirt worn by Rafael Nadal when he won his 12th French Open in 2019 has raised the largest sum, fetching €20,500 (£18,000).
