BBC’s Big Night In viewers rejoice as Miranda reunites with former co-stars

BBC‘s Big Night In viewers rejoiced as Miranda Hart reunited with her former co-stars for a special sketch on Thursday evening during the fundraiser.

The group last appeared together during a Miranda special in 2015 and never ruled out a reprisal as following a successful run of six years.

The comedian, 47, was joined by Tom Ellis, Sarah Hadland, Patritcia Hodge and Sally Phillips, who starred alongside her on the show. 

Miranda, who was playing her titular character, told viewers lockdown suits her, with flashbacks showing scenes from the sitcom which prove she’s best left indoors.  

This included walking in on her parents ‘naughty knitting evening’, and entertaining herself in a variety of unique ways while around the house.

During the skit, Miranda was caught short as she spoke to a mop with Gary’s [Tom] face on it, and told him she knew that she was beautiful.

However moments later Gary appeared on the screen for a Zoom call and he questioned what she was up to and whether that was his face.

Fans took to twitter to praise their reunion, with one writing: ‘I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Miranda Hart. #BigNightIn.’

Steps’ Faye Tozer was also loving the reunion, and penned: ‘Miranda on the Big Night In. Love ooo!’

Another fan mused: ‘It’s quite depressing that it takes awful circumstances like this to bring Miranda and the Vicar of Dibley back into our lives.

‘Long overdue. All hail @merhart and @dawn_french however! Box set binges this weekend I feel… #BigNightIn.’

Another person said: ‘We got Miranda Hart and Tom Ellis together on screen!’
