Stacey Solomon hits back at online abuse by removing her make-up in powerful clip

Stacey Solomon hit back at online abuse she received over the weekend by sharing a powerful clip on Instagram on Sunday.

The Loose Women panellist, 30, revealed she was called ‘ugly’ by a troll, and decided to publicly overcome their mean comment by uploading a video of herself removing her make-up.

Dancing to Sugababes’ hit single Ugly, the media personality fought off the negativity as she took off her false eyelashes to reveal her naturally radiant complexion.

The former X Factor singer posted a screenshot of the rude follower’s rude messages, which read: ‘Yeah you are mad freak… your so ugly.’ [sic]

Deciding to uplight her fans, the musician put on a goofy display as she boogied in her kitchen, before going completely make-up free. 

Stacey wrote: ‘But the sugar babes got it right all those years ago… Ugly is a characteristic not a look. Never let anyone make you feel anything less than you are. BEAUTIFUL’ [sic]

‘I love reading your messages’, the brunette added after she met with praise from her loyal followers.

Earlier in the week, the mother-of-three was left flustered as she watched her beau Joe Swash vacuum the couple’s artificial lawn at their Essex home.

The TV star joked Joe, 38, was trying to get her pregnant again as she treated fans to a glimpse of their day. 

Stacey quipped: ‘He’s trying to get me pregnant again,’ followed by a crying laughing emoji.   

Last month, she revealed the pressure of keeping up with her children’s schoolwork is ‘overwhelming’ her during a chat for Loose Women‘s new online series.

The TV star said she was struggling to deal with the volume of work her 12-year-old son Zachary has been set, amid the coronavirus pandemic.  

She explained: ‘Leighton (her middle son aged seven) goes online, signs on, ticks his thing, signs his thing and submits it.

‘Zach’s is so hard. He’s only year seven and I thought I would know how to help him. He asks me questions and I’m like ”Zach I honestly don’t know. You’re gonna have to google it”.

‘He is getting his full timetable every single day, he is getting Geography, Maths, English, PE every day and it’s overwhelming me, I don’t even know how to…’ Stacey added before shaking her head in horror.

Fellow Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha had some words of encouragement for Stacey and any other parents tasked with homeschooling their children. 

She said: ‘Just take your foot off the gas, they’ll catch up, it’s Easter holidays on Friday. With homeschooling, it’s hard to get out of that mindset. It doesn’t have to happen at that time in the day. You can’t become a teacher overnight. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself.’

Schools in the UK closed until further notice earlier this month due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple are parents to 11-month-old son Rex, while Stacey also has Leighton, six, from a previous relationship, and Joe shares Harry, 12, with ex-fiancée Emma Sophocleous.
