Victoria Beckham celebrates David’s 45th birthday with throwback snaps

Victoria Beckham celebrated husband David’s 45th birthday in style on Saturday as she shared a montage of throwback snaps. 

The fashion designer, 45, took to Instagram to kick off the former footballer’s well-wishes as she shared a photo of the pair walking Rottweilers Snoop and Puffy in Manchester, 23 years ago. 

Victoria wrote: ‘Happy birthday @DavidBeckhamx Remembering our walks with Snoop and Puffy in Manchester all those years ago. 

‘Still dog walking together 23 years later. Love you so much x’.

Posh next posted a sweet video montage devoted to her husband, with The Doobie Brothers Long Train Runnin’ hit playing as the background music. 

The collection of clips started with David walking through Disneyland Florida with Mickey Mouse ears on over his black baseball cap from last year’s trip with the family.

The video then jumped to Manchester United legend feeding geese and concentrating as he built a Lego Jeep and Hogwarts. 

David dancing with best pal Marc Anthony at his eldest son Brooklyn’s huge 21st birthday bash, him posing with spaniels Fig and Olive and his career in football were also included in the sweet video message.

Bike rides, family holiday snaps and memories of David with their children: Brooklyn, Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and Harper, eight, were all included.

Victoria added a video of Brooklyn surprising his dad for his 43rd birthday, one of Cruz and Romeo playing guitars when they were younger and the whole family watching from the front row of one of her fashion shows. 

‘Happy bday to the best daddy. Celebrating in lockdown and missing @brooklynbeckham and all our friends and family today. We all love you so much xxx’, she captioned the post. 

Brooklyn is currently isolating in America with his actress girlfriend Nicola Peltz.  

The mother-of-four has only returned to Instagram this week after announcing she has reversed her decision to furlough 30 members of staff from her eponymous fashion brand.  

Victoria, who, alongside David, is worth £335million, had planned to use the Government’s Covid-19 scheme to pay 80 per cent of the wages of some of her staff. 

The fashion brand, which employs 120 people, sent letters to 30 members of staff warning them that they were going to be furloughed under the Government’s scheme for two months.  

She told The Guardian: ‘We will not now be drawing on the government furlough scheme. At the beginning of the lockdown the shareholders agreed with senior management to furlough a small proportion of staff. At that point we didn’t know how long the lockdown might last or its likely impact on the business.  

‘The welfare of my team and our business means everything to me.’ 

It is understood the firm’s application would have cost taxpayers £150,000. 

The firm denied the U-turn was a result of the public backlash and instead insisted the board ‘now believe that with the support of our shareholders, we can navigate through this crisis without drawing from the furlough scheme’.   

In a statement, the company said: ‘Victoria Beckham Ltd has been working hard to protect its people and, while adjusting to the impact of COVID-19 and the government lockdown, our decision to furlough a small number of our staff seemed the most appropriate option in keeping with many other businesses. 

‘The situation is dynamic, and, with the support of our shareholders, we now believe we can navigate through this crisis without drawing from the government furlough scheme. 

‘Our application was made in the best interests of trying to protect our staff, and that is still our absolute focus. We are doing everything we can to ensure we can achieve that without using government assistance.’

Other celebrities including Jamie Oliver and Dragons Den star Peter Jones have also sought taxpayer assistance for their staff.
