‘The key players, uncensored!’ Seven to premiere TV special ‘Tiger King: What Really Went Down?’ exclusively in Australia with never-before-seen footage and interviews

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, a Netflix docu-series, quickly became the most popular title on the platform when it launched in March. 

And now Australian fans will be treated to a one-hour TV special that will delve deeper into the complicated storylines of troubled zookeeper Joe Exotic and his rival, CEO of Big Cat Rescue, Carole Baskin. 

Seven will air the in-depth investigation, titled ‘Tiger King: What Really Went Down?’, with never-before-seen footage and interviews on Tuesday, May 12.

Netflix’s docu-series Tiger King is primarily about Joe Exotic, his tigers, his life and rivalry with animal rights activist and CEO of Big Cat Rescue, Carole Baskin, but many other key figures are intertwined with his past, present and future. 

Promising ‘the key players, uncensored’, the TV special will explore outstanding questions about whether or not Joe Exotic is guilty.

It also promises ‘shocking footage exposed’, as it teases Joe with his tigers in never-before-seen clips.

The show also gives an inside look into Carole Baskin’s husband’s disappearance and the current status of the new investigation.

In the preview, an officer of the law can be heard saying confidently: ‘He was killed.’  

The statement is believed to be in reference to Carole’s ex-husband Don Lewis, who went missing 21 years ago.
