First look at The Voice Australia’s 2020 contestants

The Voice Australia returns to Channel Nine with its ninth season on Sunday night.

And while the show will introduce us to unknown hopefuls auditioning, this year’s competition will feature many familiar faces attempting a second shot at fame.

According to 9Now, contestants will include an Order of Australia recipient, a former Australian Idol winner and a Home and Away star with hidden vocal talents.

On Monday, Channel Nine released an extended trailer for the show’s premiere that gives fans a first glimpse at this year’s contestant. 

And if the new preview is anything to go by, returning judges Guy Sebastian, Boy George, Delta Goodrem and Kelly Rowland are in for a shock as producers attempt to shake things up.

This year’s season will feature new hosts Darren McMullen and Renee Bargh. 

The show will also feature a TikTok star and a former Voice Kids contestant.

This year’s season will feature massive twists, including one called ‘The Block’, which will allow the coaches to be more competitive than ever. 

Earlier this week it was revealed that the singing competition will be filmed in a new studio, and boasts one of the biggest undercover stages in the Southern Hemisphere.

In an interview with 9Now in February, Kelly confessed there was still plenty of tension between herself and fellow coach Boy George, 58.

‘We love to get under each other’s skin. It’s the most interesting relationship I probably have in my life,’ said the 39-year-old singer.

The Voice will premiere Sunday, May 24 at 7pm on Channel Nine
