Holly Willoughby left confused over lockdown rules as Alison Hammond erects an INFLATABLE PUB

‘I don’t understand!’ Holly Willoughby is left confused over lockdown rules during This Morning segment as Alison Hammond erects an INFLATABLE PUB

This Morning’s Holly Willoughby was left bewildered on Thursday’s show after becoming muddled over the lockdown rules regarding outdoor pubs.

The host, 39, became flustered as she and co-host Phillip Schofield questioned the rules during a segment in which roving reporter Alison Hammond erected an inflatable pub in a garden.

As the bubbly presenter, 45, showed the hosts around the pop-up bar, Holly became confused as to whether six people were allowed in, as she was unsure whether the inflatable pub counted as inside or outside.

What’s the deal? This Morning’s Holly Willoughby was left bewildered on Thursday’s show after becoming muddled over the lockdown rules regarding outdoor pubs

A recent change in the government’s lockdown laws stated that up to six people from different households were allowed to socialise in a garden or park, so long as they adhere to a two metre distance.

However, with Alison encouraging viewers to hire the makeshift drinking hole, including inflatable beer barrels, fireplace and furniture, Holly and Phil questioned if this was allowed.

As Alison happily sipped her pint in the bar which can hold up to 70 people, Holly asked: ‘So, is that outside? Inside? I don’t understand!’

While Phil, 58, said: ‘Under the guidelines, what does that actually count as?’

With both stars then asking Alison: ‘Is it a tent? Is a gazebo?’

The camera then cut back to the perplexed Big Brother star who declared: ‘It’s an inflatable!’

To which Phil responded: ‘We know it’s inflatable but does it count as inside? In which case do the rules apply because you’re meant to be outside in sixes. We’re confused.’

An exasperated Holly then proceeded to shake her head as she exclaimed: ‘We don’t know, we don’t know! We’ll have to read the guidelines further.’

Alison, who inflated the pub in co-star Alice Beer’s garden after admitting hers was too small, then urged the hosts to ‘don’t shoot the messenger!’

Holly then simply added: ‘Whatever, it’s brilliant. I love it and I want one!’

However, Alison appeared to address the matter earlier in the segment when she chatted to the owner of Melton Inflatables.

After learning prices started from £295 to hire the pub, she said: ‘Obviously government guidelines say you can only have six people in your garden, so 300 between six people isn’t bad is it?’

This Morning continues weekdays from 10am on ITV.
