Woman recreates glamour holiday pictures from home during lockdown and the results are hilarious

The ultimate staycation! Travel blogger recreates holiday snaps at home in rather less glamorous fashion during lockdown

  • Sharon Waugh, from South Africa, recreated glamour holidays snaps at home
  • Travel influencer has visited 57 countries but had stay home due to Covid-19
  • With household items and dose of humour, reproduced common holiday poses

Travel restrictions mean that influencers who ususally fill their social media feeds with glamorous shots from far-flung locations are left struggling for content, but one has come up with an ingenious solution.

Sharon Waugh, from Cape Town, South Africa, has put her time in lockdown to good use  by recreateing popular poses struck by influencers on Instagram – such as the ubiquitous #FollowMeTo pose of a girl leading her partner by the hand.

Using household items like toilet role to create the Taj Mahal, and building a fort with the sofa and cushions in her flat, she poked fun at the idea of being on an exotic holiday.

Posting the pictures side-by-side with original snaps from 2019 on Bored Panda, Sharon joked practising holidays poses would help travel-obsessed people deal with the current travel restrictions.

The travel-enthusiast, who’s visited 57 countries and counting, could be seen posing next to her ironing board instead of an actual surf board.

In another snap, she leans over to her kitchen window wrapped in her duvet to replicate a broody picture shared by an influencer in a hotel room.
