Jennifer Grey announces she is divorcing husband of Clark Gregg after 19 years of marriage

Jennifer Grey has announced she is divorcing her actor husband Clark Gregg after 19 years of marriage. The couple share one child together.

The Dirty Dancing star, 60, revealed their split on Instagram on Friday, revealing they decided to officially end their marriage after initially separating back in January. 

Jennifer posted a photo of herself with her arms wrapped around Clark, 58, and revealed they were both ‘totally crying’ as they broke the news to followers.  

‘After 19 years together, we separated in january, knowing we’d always be a family who loves, values and cares for each other,’ she wrote. 

‘We recently made the difficult decision to divorce, but we remain close and are deeply grateful for the life we’ve shared and the wonderful daughter we’ve raised. – jennifer & clark p.s. totally crying as we post this.’

The couple’s divorce announcement comes just weeks before what would have been their 20th wedding anniversary.  

Jennifer and Clark married July 21, 2001 and share daughter Stella, 18, together. 

The couple began dating in 2000, 13 years after Jennifer catapulted to fame after playing a teenager who falls for her dance instructor in Dirty Dancing. 

Clark joked they both love to recreate the iconic ‘lift’ scene at their home.

‘I basically just walk around the house with me holding her on the lift!’ he teased to Closer Weekly last year. 

The Avengers actor also shared what a typical date night between the pair looks like. 

‘When we’re in New York, a date night usually involves theater, sushi and maybe a salsa class if she wins or binge-watching if I win!’  

Fans may best remember Jennifer for her turns on Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and of course Dirty Dancing. 

Clark, meanwhile, has enjoyed success on the big and small screens with roles in The Avengers and more recently, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
