Kylie and Kendall Jenner explain their brand has ‘NO RELATIONSHIP’ with company which has been accused of failing to pay garment workers in Bangladesh

  • Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner have issued a statement explaining they have ‘no relationship’ with a company accused of not paying factory workers in Bangladesh
  • Their Kendall + Kylie brand was accused in June of not paying garment suppliers for orders in February and March
  • The original report claimed the brand was owned by Global Brands Group, though the group and the Jenner’s have denied they are connected
  • The sisters did say they had previous sales relationships with GBG but they are no longer connected to one another

Kendall and Kylie Jenner are speaking out over claims that their Kendall + Kylie fashion brand has not been paying factory workers in Bangladesh.

The sisters’ brand released a joint statement through the Kendall + Kylie Instagram on Thursday evening, explaining the brand has ‘no relationship’ with the company accused of failing to pay.

‘We would like to address the unfortunate and incorrect rumor that Global Brands Group owns the Kendall + Kylie brand and that we have neglected to pay factory workers in Bangladesh as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,’ the statement begins.

The accusation first surfaced on ReMake and later on the Diet Prada Instagram account, claiming that brand management company Global Brands Group wasn’t paying workers.

While the GBG listed the Jenner’s clothing line on their site, the sisters maintained their brand is owned by a completely separate entity.

‘This is untrue. The Kendall + Kylie brand is owned by 3072541 Canada Inc., not GBG,’ the statement continues.

They added that, ‘the brand has worked with CAA-GBG in the past in a sales and business development capacity only.’

‘But we do not currently have any relationship at all with GBG,’ the statement reiterated.

‘We know these are trying times for the fashion industry and garment workers as a whole, and we continue to support all of our partners working in factories who produce our products,’ the statement continued.

The original post from Remake claimed that GBG didn’t pay garment suppliers for orders produced in February and March.

After the allegations surfaced again in a Diet Prada Instagram post, a rep for Kendall + Kylie denied the rumor to Teen Vogue

‘The Kendall + Kylie brand is owned by Canada Inc. The brand does not produce in Bangladesh. So [these allegations are] not accurate,’ the rep said.

While Kendall + Kylie denied any connection to GBG, their brand was listed under GBG’s ‘Kids’ brands until June 23, with a rep confirming  they are, ‘working on getting the brand removed from the website.’

On June 24, the brand’s logo was removed from their website, with CAA-GBG issuing another statement.

‘“CAA-GBG is the Brand Management Division of Global Brands Group (GBG) and does not design or manufacture any product for Kendall + Kylie,’ the statement read.
