MasterChef: Poh Ling Yeow hits back at FANS for judging dishes they’ve never tasted

MasterChef’s Poh Ling Yeow hits back at FANS for judging dishes they’ve never tasted – as she denies claims the hosts have ‘favourites’

Her elimination on Sunday night’s episode left MasterChef fans distraught.

And following her exit, Poh Ling Yeow has hit back at claims there is any favouritism shown towards certain contestants by judges Jock Zonfrillo, Andy Allen and Melissa Leong.

‘You can’t even go there because it’s absolutely judged by the food, not the person – I can absolutely attest to that,’ the 47-year-old said on Monday.

Rumours! On Monday, MasterChef star Poh Ling Yeow hit back at claims of favouritism on the hit cooking showing, telling Now To Love that contestants were judges only by their ‘food’

Poh also said she found it ‘strange’ that some viewers were so judgmental about dishes they had never tasted.

‘It could [look] hideous and taste delicious and then something can look amazing but have major technical faults,’ she told Now To Love.

‘If you’re not there actually doing it, I find it really strange that people make such extreme calls and are so impassioned about it.’

It comes after MasterChef viewers struggled to show interest in Monday’s episode after Poh’s elimination the previous night.

Bored fans couldn’t resist pointing out the ‘Poh-shaped hole’ in their viewing experience on Twitter, and some even hinted they would boycott the series.

Poh’s elimination was emotional for everyone on set, and judge Melissa tearfully called her a ‘national treasure’ while saying goodbye.

Poh was graceful in defeat, saying: ‘It’s been everything that I wanted it to be. I’m a risk taker, and that’s what happened today, you know.

‘I met my demise finally. But I’ve had such a fantastic time. It’s just been such a joy to cook with these guys.

‘And it’s really humbling to be around them. It’s been… it’s just been such a fantastic experience. I’ve loved every moment.’
