The Bachelorette‘s Timm Hanly has addressed Angie Kent’s split from Carlin Sterritt for the first time, a week after the couple announced they’d called it quits.
Timm, 28, who was left heartbroken when Angie chose Carlin instead of him during last year’s season of the Channel 10 dating show, briefly mentioned the break-up in a wide-ranging interview with WHO magazine, published on Thursday.
When asked if he’d heard from either of them since filming the show, the long-haired larrikin replied: ‘Yeah, I speak to Carlin. I used to speak to them a bit, but I just let them do their thing.’

‘It’s a bit weird,’ he added. ‘You go from being so close to someone [on the show]. I was so close to both of them that it’s weird.’
Timm, who will appear in the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise, added that he’d since moved on from Angie was was doing great.
‘I’m flying,’ the fireproofer said.

Former Gogglebox star Angie, 30, and personal trainer Carlin, 31, announced their split on July 1, after weeks of break-up rumours.
‘We have not wanted to confirm until this point because there have been much bigger issues going on in the world and we’ve both been taking space to think about what we really want,’ Angie wrote on Instagram.
She added: ‘Matters of the heart are extremely difficult and I’m sad to say that Carlin and I have broken up.’

In a series of videos posted to his Instagram Stories that same day, Carlin also confirmed the split.
He said: ‘It is true that Angie and I have gone our separate ways, but it’s for the best for us individually, and simply just wanting the best for her and wanting the best for me.’
Carlin added that ‘being the best version of yourself is very important’, and admitted the split had taken a toll on his mental well-being.

‘As some people already knew from previous posts, my mental health had taken a bit of a left turn,’ he confessed.
‘I just simply wasn’t the best version of myself or simply able to give the best version of me to Angie.’

Declaring their love for each other in the finale, which aired on November 14, she told him: ‘I’m just going to be honest, you’re usually not my type of guy. You’re very put together and I’m not put together. I’m not perfect.
‘I get dressed up in pretty dresses and stuff but I am a f**king mess… I’m just a bit of a grub.
‘And I don’t want the perfect guy just for everyone. I want the perfect guy for me. Because I truly have put my whole heart and soul into this.
‘There’s no doubt in my mind now that I feel like you are the perfect guy for me. And I am completely falling in love with you.’
Happily ever after? Declaring their love for each other in the finale, which aired on November 14, she told him: ‘There’s no doubt in my mind now that I feel like you are the perfect guy for me. And I am completely falling in love with you’
A delighted Carlin replied: ‘What are you doing to me? Oh, my God. I have fallen in love with you too!’
But before confessing her feelings for Carlin, she had to deliver the bad news to Timm, with whom she had shared intense chemistry throughout the season.
Angie said that Timm was her ‘soulmate’ and made her ‘laugh all the time’, but wasn’t quite able to put into words that she had a stronger connection with Carlin.
Despite realising things weren’t going to go his way, Timm put his feelings aside and hugged a tearful Angie while telling her: ‘It’s alright… don’t cry.’
It was only after he’d bid farewell to Angie that Timm broke down in tears and spoke to producers about how devastated he was.
‘I was just waiting for the “but”. I could just see it in her eyes, there was a “but” coming. I knew straight away when I looked at her…’ he said.
‘That’s why you have your walls up, for that exact reason,’ he added. ‘[I’m] never talking about my feelings ever again…’
