Delta Goodrem broke down in tears as she said goodbye to her artist Steve Clisby on Monday’s episode of The Voice Australia.

The coach, 35, farewelled four team members: duo Goldi (Janie Gordon and Matt Evans), opera singer Clarissa Spata, and 74-year-old Steve.

She told the American singer: ‘Steve, in my eyes, you are of the heroes of this season and the show ever.’

‘Your artistry, and your spirit, and you, performing every single time to experience for any of us,’ she added.

Steve thanked the Born to Try hitmaker for her guidance and support, saying: ‘I feel really super-blessed that I was able to be on your team. You know what the connection is and just the teamwork is amazing. 

‘I feel kind of emotional about it because I really love working with the team,’ he added, as Delta became emotional.

‘At this point in my life, period, I’m just really happy to be here. So, I’m just going to try and do my best to, you know, keep the music alive, and myself,’ he said. 

Steve was an all-star contestant this year, after having made it to the semi-finals during season two back in 2013.

It’s not the first time Delta has become emotional on the show, as she had welled up during Steve’s blind audition when he performed Magic by Coldplay.

‘In this moment, I’d love to be your coach as the woman that I’ve become,’ she told him at the time. 

Steve chose Delta to be his coach, and promise they would ‘finish what we started’ during the 2013 season.

Delta chose to keep Stellar Perry and Jesse Teinaki in her team on Monday, ahead of the upcoming Grand Finals week.
