EastEnders’ Tameka Empson, 43, reveals she’s given birth to a BABY BOY in lockdown after keeping her pregnancy a secret from fans
EastEnders star Tameka Empson has surprised fans with the news she’s given birth to a baby boy during lockdown.
The actress, 43, announced her new arrival as she reunited with co-star Diane Parish on Thursday’s Loose Women ahead of their appearance on Secrets From The Square.
Tameka – who took a break from EastEnders last year – admitted she kept her pregnancy a secret as she wanted to enjoy it for herself, but confessed that parenting in lockdown had been ‘a challenge.’

Tameka – who plays Kim Fox on the soap – gushed: ‘I’ve been contributing to the human race… I have a baby boy, a bouncing baby boy.
Asked how she’s handling life in lockdown, she added: ‘[It’s] a challenge… nothing prepares you for it.
‘My daughter is six and we’re doing homeschooling, and then you’ve got a newborn and you’ve got to watch everything… he’s sleeping now, which helps. I’m made of the good stuff, I’ve come through it OK.’

Clearly surprised by Tameka’s bombshell baby news, the panel asked why she chose to keep her pregnancy a secret.
She said: ‘It wasn’t so much deliberate. I just wanted to enjoy it. A baby comes and you want to enjoy it before everyone says, ”How’s he doing… etc..” But now he’s here and he’s loud!’
Tameka took a break from EastEnders last year, but it was confirmed last month that she will be returning to the soap later this year.
Speaking on her return, Tameka added: ‘By the end of the year, stay tuned! Not quite sure just yet, but I’ll be back!”
During her time on Loose Women, Tameka was joined by her Loose Women co-star Diane Parish, who plays Kim’s half-sister Denise.
