The 27-year-old singer–songwriter looked peaceful in a short clip posted to Instagram to commentate the second anniversary of her ‘miracle day,’ when she nearly died of a drug overdose.

The pop star mused on the tragic–turned–life-affirming day in a length text post accompanying the video.

Living a miracle: Demi Lovato looked peaceful in a short clip posted to Instagram on Friday. She used the occasion to commemorate two years since her ‘miracle day’ when she nearly died of an opioid overdose

Demi was at ease and had her head tilted back in the black and white video, which was soundtracked with a few seconds of Paramore’s The Only Exception playing over the car stereo.

She wore her lustrous raven locks straight down and contrasted them with a bright white blouse.

‘Feeling so grateful so I wrote something,’ she captioned the clip, before adding a postscript: ‘took this after telling me to close my eyes on the way to propose to me. Love you honey.’

‘Today is my miracle day,’ she began her note.

‘I’m so blessed to have one. It represents how the Dr’s at Cedar’s Sinai saved my life. How my life has become something beyond my wildest dreams,’ she wrote.

‘Only 2 years after that terrible day, I’m engaged to the love of my life, and I can genuinely say I feel free of my demons. Each and every one. I never thought this feeling was possible. And it’s not just because I fell in love (Although that didn’t hurt), but because over the past 2 years, I’ve done more work on myself than I have in my entire life,’ she contiunued.

‘Things that used to keep me down for weeks or even months, pass like tropical storms because my relationship with God has provided me infinite security.

‘Long before I had an engagement ring on my ring finger, I had the word “me” to remind myself that no matter what, I vow to love myself. You can’t fully love another without loving yourself first,’ she wrote.

‘Thank you God for this peace and understanding but most of all giving me the strength to fight through my darkest times. Thank you to my family, friends and fans for always supporting me and respecting my privacy regarding this journey.. I love you all,’ she concluded.

On July 24, Demi was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering an opioid overdose that was reportedly from fentanyl-laced oxycodone.

She was revived via naloxone and spent multiple weeks in the hospital before transferring to an in-patient rehab facility.

She subsequently revealed that her management team’s overbearing insistence on her losing weight, combined with a bulimia relapse, contributed to the overdose.

Demi’s fiancé Max Ehrich was a source of support in the comments on her intimate post.

‘I couldn’t not video this moment. You are the most resilient, strong, compassionate, beautiful angel. I cannot imagine my world without you in it and I’m grateful beyond words that God kept you here. I love you so much and can’t wait for our future ❤️,’ he wrote.

Demi was overjoyed when she announced her engagement to the actor, who’s best known for stints on The Young And The Restless and recurring roles on Under The Dome and The Path.

She shared gorgeous photos of the two embracing on a beach, along with a closeup of her massive diamond engagement ring.

‘And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage… I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby…’

The couple were spotted at the swanky Japanese restaurant Nobu Malibu shortly afterward in the same outfits as their engagement photos.

The couple first revealed their relationship earlier this year amid reports that they were quarantining together.
