Tamzin Outhwaite has revealed she would give her boyfriend her blessing to leave her to have children with another woman if he wanted to start a family.

Mother-of-two Tamzin, 49, has been dating 29-year-old Tom Child – who doesn’t have any kids – for just over two years.

Speaking on The Times’ Postcards from Midlife podcast, the former EastEnders actress said: ‘After my experiences in life, I don’t think I think everything is always forever.

‘He hates me saying this, but if he in a couple of years he really wanted kids I would give him my blessing.

‘I don’t feel like he has to be here forever. I’m just having a lovely time.’

She has two children from her former marriage to actor Tom Ellis, daughter Marnie, eight, and Florence, 12.

Tamzin added that dating in her 40s felt ‘liberating’ as she was no longer preoccupied with finding The One.

In the interview she revealed: ‘It’s liberating because I’ve got my kids. I don’t need to get married and I don’t need children. So actually I’m at the freest point really in my life.

‘Having somebody that makes my day to day bright and exciting and fun… he’s like my home, very familiar. But at the same time he feels like my adventure.’

It comes after reports that the actress is thought to be in advanced talks with BBC bosses to join this year’s Strictly along with the likes of Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing.

A source told The Sun: ‘What with Covid-19, everything is all still very much touch and go, and plans are changing on a weekly basis.

‘But nearly all the celebs are in the final stages of negotiations now, and Jamie is fully on board…

‘Tamzin is a perfect fit for the show. The BBC loves an EastEnder and she has a background in performing and dance, so she is really excited to see how she fares.’

The soap star previously revealed that her two daughters desperately wanted her to appear on the hit show.

But Tamzin, who first appeared in Albert Square in 1998, admitted: ‘I think I’m a bit old. I’m not sure my body could take it.’
