Support available. According to Mika Lintilä, it is a matter of anticipation and calming the business community.

Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä wants it to be possible to continue business subsidies quickly as the interest rate crisis deepens.

Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä (center) proposes the possibility of continuing general cost support for companies if the situation so requires. cost Support was introduced in July In place of development subsidies for Business Finland and ely centers. Its purpose is to help cover the running costs of companies and prevent bankruptcies.

“If koronatilanne get worse and cause financial pressure on companies like spring, I am ready to present on the re-activation. This is my message to businesses that are concerned about the prospects for the autumn,” says Lintilä.

The premise is that the model could be quickly implemented with complementary settings.

Support is available until the end of August. According to Lintilä, guidelines for the future will be made on the basis of the corona situation and economic development. The key is to ensure that there is a readiness for swift action in the future.

“It was criticized in the spring that the model was not immediately available. It was purely due to the lack of the necessary legislation and technology. This required a long work. The premise is that the model could be introduced quickly with complementary regulations.”

Terms will be reviewed

According to Lintilä, the debate on reactivation is currently relevant, as it is about anticipation and calming the business community.

“There are worrying messages from the world about the second wave and we are working to minimize all possible, future risks.”

A total of EUR 300 million in cost support is currently available. Lintilä does not comment on what kind of sums would be talked about in the future. In his opinion, the search criteria will be re-examined in any case.

Companies whose turnover has fallen by at least 30% compared to the reference period are now eligible. It has also been a condition that the industry’s sales have fallen by at least 10 percent.

“Let’s evaluate how the criteria have served. Certainly the amount of turnover is one that is being considered. The aim is to help companies stay afloat as well as possible.”

Part of the aid paid for reprocessing

State Treasury announced today Tuesdaythat some companies’ cost support applications will have to be re-processed. This is due to a technical error in the payroll data used for processing.

The cost subsidy is calculated on the basis of salary data. In incorrect processing, salary data from April to May had been extracted from the income register instead of the salary payment period according to the payment date.

The re-processing concerns a small part of the applications that are known to the State Treasury. This means that some companies will receive more cost support than has already been granted and some will have to recover the aid. The State Treasury is in direct contact with these companies.
