According to a police release, a considerable number of tires have been punctured in Rauma during July-August.

To date, more than 20 cases have been reported to the police within a month.

On the south side of Central Park along Hallikatu, the tires of 4 different vehicles were punctured on July 9, 2020, probably at night. In addition, significant amounts of screws have been applied to the intersection of Seminaarinkatu and Satamakatu in the previous two weeks. These have also caused tire breaks.

There have been a total of 14 tire bursts in the Otan area. Most commonly on Saaristokatu, Urheilukatu and Pursikatu. The latest act took place last weekend on Purjehtijankatu, on the side of Syvärauma.

The cars are so far selected at random.

The police are investigating this phenomenon as a whole. The acts were committed mainly at night and, according to the police, often target several vehicles at the same time.

The findings related to the cases are of interest to the police and the police ask the residents of the downtown areas to pay attention to catch the perpetrator or perpetrators.

If these similar acts continue to occur, the police will ask the victim to report the matter to the emergency center so that a police patrol can be alerted to the scene to conduct a more detailed investigation.
