Johannes Salonen, who is in Beirut due to commercials, was only a couple of blocks from the blast zone, he said.

Johannes Salonen, who was in Beirut for work, was in the middle of a work meeting when the port of Beirut exploded.

Salonen and his colleagues first thought the strong vibration was an earthquake.

– The tables suddenly began to vibrate in the middle of the meeting. We had time to curse the situation for a second and wonder, but as the windows flew in, everyone jumped under the table.

John and his co-workers protected themselves under the wheel while shards of glass flew around the office.

– At that point, everyone was afraid it was a bomb attack.

Some of the co-workers suffered minor injuries and had to be quilted due to broken glass. However, no one in the office was seriously injured, according to Salonen.

Information about the accident reassured me

According to John, the situation was so momentary that the passage of time was difficult to discern.

– Little by little, information began to come through the locals that it was an accident. The information was reassuring, of course, as there was a strong desire and desire to believe that this would not be a terrorist attack.

Soon after the explosion, there was an uncertain and anxious atmosphere in the city streets.

– The streets were full of glass and the gang ran around in an anxious state, trying to reach out to their relatives. I didn’t notice the actual screaming or screaming.

“Post-shock grief”

The glasses within a kilometer radius of the blast site broke. So are the windows of a hotel a couple of blocks from Salonen.

– Shocking destruction is here and homes and buildings have been destroyed.

According to Salonen, on Wednesday the atmosphere in the area is “calmly upset”.

– Some kind of post-shock grief is underway.

Salonen says that his work on filming commercials will continue with these prospects. It would be different if it had been a terrorist attack.
