Joonas Korpisalo eventually had to surrender

Goalkeeper Joonas Korpisalo finally had to surrender in the qualifying round of the hockey NHL league playoffs on Tuesday. Korpisalon’s Columbus Blue Jackets bowed to Toronto Maple Leafs 0-3.

Korpisalo had zeroed in his first encounter with the Toronto teams and at the same time in his own NHL playoff debut. Maple Leafs finally got the puck behind the Finnish guard at the end of Tuesday’s second round of the fight when Auston Matthews broke Toronto’s copper.

Korpisalo kept his goal clean for the first 96 playoffs of his career. He now saw much more black rubber than on Sunday.

– It didn’t affect my own game much. The boys did a good job of seeing the discs. There were more people in front of the goal than in the first match, but the difference was not very big, Korpisalo said, who blocked 36 shots.

John Tavares, who hit the run, increased Toronto’s lead early in the final round. Defender Morgan Rielly finished the final numbers blank.

Columbus’ “colorful” head coach John Tortorella refused to analyze his team’s game in more depth.

– Toronto played really well. We were deep, Tortorella contented himself with noting a few times at the press conference.

The wins are now exactly 1-1. The actual playoffs in the NHL can be reached with three wins. The teams will meet next Thursday.
