Queen Elizabeth’s love for pearl jewelry dates back to the childhood of the monarch.
94-year-old queen Elizabeth is, of course, one of the most famous people in the world, but the monarch ‘s style of dress alone is already well recognizable. One accessory that is rarely seen without a queen is her pearl necklace. One reason why Elizabeth prefers pearls is quite traditional, as the queen thoroughly is herself.
– Pearls have been a traditional accessory for the queen for a thousand years. There has never been a queen who would not wear a pearl necklace. They were rare, beautiful, and shiny, and the more you use them, the more shiny they become, says author Leslie Field.
According to sources, the queen has a very impressive collection of pearl jewelry. Most often, however, a classic three-row piece of jewelry is seen around Elizabeth’s neck.
– It’s a necklace he feels is the most suitable. She likes to wear pearls every day like her mother and grandmother used before her. She wouldn’t wear a diamond necklace for a charity lunch, it’s simply traditional for a lady to wear pearls during the day.

Elizabeth’s favorite pearl jewelry was commissioned shortly after she was crowned queen in 1953 when she was 27 years old. This year, the jewel may have been spotted around Elizabeth’s neck, for example, in April, when she gave a televised speech to her citizens related to the corona pandemic, or in the summer, when she represented at various events virtually via video link. The queen also wore her favorite pearls at her granddaughter Princess Beatrice’s wedding in July.
According to Field, Elizabeth’s love for pearl jewelry ignited long ago in the Queen’s childhood. Elizabeth’s grandmother, Queen Victoria, used to give her daughters and granddaughters one pearl as a birthday present each year. Thus, on her 18th birthday, the princesses had enough pearls piled up for the necklace. Queen Elizabeth’s own father, King George VI, continued this tradition, which gave Elizabeth a thin chain to which the future queen received two pearls added on each of her birthdays.
