Now it’s official. Manchester City, who play in the English Premier League for football, have acquired winger Ferran Torres from the Spanish league in Valencia.

– We have followed Ferran’s development closely and we are impressed. He’s young and still evolving, but his technical skills are exactly what we’re looking for in a winger. He’s fast, straightforward, able to create space in one move, and able to settle matches, Txiki Begiristain, a member of the city’s management team, told the club’s web site.

Torres put his name on a five-year contract. The 20-year-old Spaniard is excited about his new challenge.

– Every player wants to be on the offensive team and Manchester City is one of the most offensive in the football world. Pep (manager Guardiola) advocates a really open and aggressive style of play that I love. He has shown his ability to develop players, Torres was enthusiastic.

According to the BBC, City paid € 23 million for Torres.
