Manchester City is planning a rather surprise in the summer transfer window, according to Athletic magazine.

According to the newspaper, Manchester City would have already started negotiations with Atletico Madrid on the transfer of Portuguese striker Joao Felix to the Premier League.

Felix, 20, was one of the hottest names in the 2019 summer transfer market.

Atletico grabbed Felix with a £ 113 million transfer from Benfica and signed a contract with him until 2026.

However, Felix’s opening season at Atletico did not meet his own, the club’s, and the fans ’expectations. Felix finished with six goals in 27 matches.

City head coach Pep Guardiola is known to have been quite interested in Felix just over a year ago.

In addition, according to Athletic, Guardiola has a rather plentiful procurement budget of as much as £ 300 million. It represents EUR 330 million at the current rate.
