The car trade for new cars has not gone well this year. One of the main reasons is the coronavirus.

However, for the beginning of the year, some brands have been able to increase their registration volumes compared to the same period last year.

Of the thirty most popular brands, only six have been able to increase their registration numbers.

The wildest number is Ssangyong, which registered four cars last early year but 40 this year. The growth rate is as high as 900.

Porsche the number of registrations has increased by 154.8 percent. Last year, 73 new Porsches were registered, but this year as many as 186.

Also DSbrand sales have been slowly increasing. Last year, 20 DS models were registered, but this year the figure is already 38. The growth rate is 90%.

BMW is the only brand in the top ten to increase its registration. Growth at the beginning of the year is as high as 18.2 percent and BMW is now the eighth most popular brand.

Citroën the growth rate is 12.5 and Minin 6.8.

All other brands have growth rates of minus signs.

The biggest loser is Subaru (-48%). Next will come Honda (-43%), Opel (-37%), Land Rover (-35.7%), Seat (-35.6%), Renault (-34.8%), Mazda (-34.3%), Nissan (-33%), Ford (-32.7%) and Dacia (-32.6%).

Toyota in the clear lead

Toyota is still clearly in the lead in terms of registration volumes at the beginning of the year. Toyota cars have registered more than 7,500 cars, followed by the second Škoda has registered less than 6,000 cars.

Third place VW there are over two hundred cars in Škoda following. In fourth place Volvo there are already a thousand cars left from VW.
