After a long wait, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip reached Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

Queen Elizabeth, 94, and Prince Philip, 99, have arrived at Balmoral Castle for the summer, he says People. Traditionally, a royal couple spends their summer every year in a castle in Scotland, which is a very dear place for them. This year, however, it was uncertain whether Philip and Elisabet could leave for Balmoral because of the corona pandemic.

Elizabeth and Philip flew to Scotland on Tuesday, August 4, in a private plane to Aberdeenshire, from where the couple were transported by car to Balmoral Castle. The couple had two dogs with them, each a cross between a corgin and a dachshund.

Usually, the arrival of the queen in the castle is associated with old traditions. Usually Elizabeth inspects the castle’s reverend before he enters the castle. However, due to the corona pandemic, such celebrations have been canceled this year.

Balmoral Castle has served as the royal private residence for 150 years. In 1845, Queen Victoria’s husband, Prince Albert, bought a Scottish castle for the use of the royal family. Elizabeth and Philip often invite their relatives to spend time with them at the castle, where evening parties, parties, dances, picnics and hunting events are held. This year, however, Elisabet and Philip are likely to spend the summer in Balmoral largely between the two of their staff members due to a coronary pandemic.

Although Elizabeth is on holiday while in Balmoral, she continues her part of her daily work, for example, by going through the diplomatic documents that are delivered to her daily in the famous red boxes. In addition, the Queen holds audiences and attends some representation events – albeit currently virtually, as due to her advanced age, the Queen and Philip have been practically isolated from Windsor Castle since the coronavirus since March.

In July, however, Elizabeth and Philip stepped out of their isolation a few times. The royal couple attended the wedding of their granddaughter, Princess Beatrice, and Philip presented the title of Honorary Commander of The Rifles Infantry Regiment, which he had managed for decades, and his duties to his son, Prince Charles ’wife, to Duchess Camilla in a special ceremony.
