The rap artist thanks his loved ones for their support.

Rapper Redrama, real name Lasse Melberg has spoken openly in public about his drug addiction. Two days ago, it was exactly ten years since the man decided to put the cap on permanently. He talks about it in an Instagram video.

– If someone had told me that I could stay completely free of alcohol and drugs for ten years, I could never have believed them, Redrama states in the video.

– I just want to thank those who have supported me. I would not have been able to do this alone. I couldn’t be more grateful. It’s really, really awkward to explain that feeling of how grateful I am.

Vomited blood

Over the years, the rap artist has spoken openly about his drug addiction. He said in 2014, for example Helsingin Sanomat in an interview about his decision to stop drinking.

– I realized that I no longer had the strength or interest to continue rummaging back and forth with the vodka hook, he stated at the time.

– I was physically bad, I hadn’t eaten anything for days, I had vomited blood. Suddenly the feeling of disappearance disappeared. Again, everything was clear, but in a good way. I did not hear any voices or see visions. It was just a feather light and good.

Drinking stopped at that moment. The decision to leave drugs was also a relief for the family.

– Friends and loved ones have been really happy about it, especially the family. They have already suffered from what I had at worst. It got pretty far. Now they don’t have to worry every day, Redrama said Good morning in Finland in an interview.
