Scary injury in NHL playoffs – defender hit head and carried on ice on stretcher

Toronto Maple Leafs defender Jake Muzzinin last night’s match against Columbus Blue Jackets was abandoned. He was terribly injured in the final minutes of the match.

Muzzin struggled with the puck behind his own goal in Columbus Pierre-Luc Dubois with. After pushing, Muzzin lost his balance and fell headlong into the knee of another Columbus player.

Muzzin tried to get to his feet a few times before the game whistled across. The team’s doctor set off on the ice to check on the situation, and the defender’s condition seemed to deteriorate over time. Eventually, he was carried off the ice on a stretcher.

Fans have already had time to fear the worst, but Muzzin has been reported to have moved his lower limbs in the hospital.
