The man broke into both the car and the apartment – later found sleeping in the stairwell

In Pukinmäki, Helsinki, a car and an apartment were broken into in two different places on Tuesday within a couple of hours. Car burglary is investigated as theft and house burglary as aggravated theft. Both crimes are suspected of being the same on top of a 40-year-old man, a police statement said.

According to the release, the car break took place at about 11.20. The window of the parked van was broken and a bag was taken from the bench. The author left the scene.

The bag was later found nearby. However, there was only makeup inside. For example, the wallet and keys had been taken away.

At about 12.45 pm, the apartment was broken into through the terrace. A neighbor alerted the police to the scene, but the perpetrator had time to leave the scene.

According to the release, the closets in the apartment had been plundered and property, including electronics, jewelry, clothing and utensils, had been looted from the apartment.

– Later, the police were given a disturbing task in the stairwell of the Pukinmäki apartment building. A police patrol found a man sleeping in the stairwell whose characteristics corresponded to those given by a car and burglar. In addition, property seized from both the car and the apartment was found in the man’s possession. Police arrested the man and returned the property to its rightful owners, says the director of investigation, crime commissioner in the press release Tero Tyynelä From the Helsinki Police Department.
