Football league HJK was very disappointed on Thursday at home when the Club was tied for 1-1 with FC Lahti.

The home crowd cheered when, after 8 minutes, Eetu Vertainen’s charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. The hit was the first of the young man’s season.

An equal hit was preceded by a Club penalty kick taken by Tim Väyrynen when he was knocked inside the box. The hustle and bustle was broken by Henritse Eninful. A pass to the side pulled the defense out of position which let Rasmus Schuller slip through on goal.

The club visibly sought a 2-0 hit in the second period, but Lahti’s defense did a good job. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 84 minutes, Lahti broke through the center and found himself alone with the keeper. Kari Arkivuo made a great pass, and Dimitry Imbongo shot the ball in the Club’s club. Imbongo also celebrated its first hit of the season.

With the draw, HJK continues to be third in the series. It has collected 14 consecutive points, two less than KuPS and FC Inter. With the victory, the team would have risen to the top of the league.

The bay now has a pile of nine points, making it the seventh in a row.
