As expected, Mercedes announced Valtteri Bottas’ extension contract for the 2021 season on Thursday. Mersu’s team manager Toto Wolff has considered the Finnish sequel to be clear for some time.
– We are very excited that Valtteri will stay with us for at least another season. This year we see a stronger Valtter than ever – not only on the track, but also physically and mentally, Wolff praises in a Mercedes release.
Lewis Hamilton’s follow-up agreement with Mercedes has already been set in stone.
It has not yet been made public, but all indications are that Hamilton will draw its name to a three-year contract.
– Valtter plays a very important role in the performance of the whole team. I am convinced that we are currently the strongest driver duo in F1. Valtter’s follow-up agreement is the first important step in maintaining this strength in the future. Valtteri is a hard-working and straightforward guy with good relationships throughout the team, including his teammates, even though they both fight for the world championship, Wolff recalls.
