The Finnish Hockey Association informs on its websitethat Marko Torenius is the latest confirmation from the union’s goalkeeper organization. The man has experience from, among others, SKA in St. Petersburg as a goalkeeper coach.
Torrenius’ task is to help Olli-Pekka Äijälä, the main goalkeeper trainer, focus on developing Mestis and a top-level goalkeeper game.
– Torenius knows and knows the goal game of the world’s top leagues (NHL, AHL and KHL). Our goal is to implement the standard of quality and systematic training of everyday life for the goalkeeping coaches of the League, Mestis and national teams and thereby the development of the Finnish goalkeeping game, the GM of the youth national teams. Kimmo Oikarinen says.
The Helsinki employee worked at KHL as a goalkeeper pilot in the 2012-19 seasons, mainly at SKA. Before that, he was with the league team Blues for a long time.
