Tottenham have reached a deal with Southampton as a midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjergin transfer amount, says BBC.

Southampton initially wanted £ 25m from 25-year-old Højbjerg, but Tottenham’s first bid was £ 15m. According to the BBC, the agreed transfer amount is less than Saints the amount required at first, but considerably greater than Spurs first offer. The transfer fee was negotiated for many weeks.

Three other clubs, including Everton, had previously made an acceptable offer for Højbjerg, but the Danish national team player wants to move specifically to Tottenham.

Højbjerg has been representing Southampton since the summer of 2016 after joining Bayern Munich. He served as captain of Southampton this season until announced by the manager Ralph Hasenhüttlillethat he does not want to extend his contract, which has one year left.
