At the end of July, the Burgerpodi podcast of Burger Lovers Finland, Finland’s largest burger community, found out which fast food chain offers the best-tasting vegetarian burger.

Burger Lovers Finlandin In a taste test on the Burgerpodi podcast, vegetarian or vegan burgers from five different restaurants were blindly tasted with tubettist Herbalist. Fast food restaurant chains operating in Finland were included in the taste test. The racing five included Friends & Brgrs, Naughty BRGR, McDonald’s, Burger King and Hesburger.

These vegetable burgers were included in the test:

Friends & Brgrsin Vegan Brgr: homemade vegan steak, pickled red onion, oven-roasted tomato, salad, vegan Aioli mayonnaise

McDonald’sin Grillhouse Veggie: vegetable steak, cheddar cheese, American salad, red onion and tomato Chargrill sauce

Burger King’s Rebel Whopper: vegetable protein based open fire grilled steak, tomato, salad, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles and onion

Hesburgerin Veke: soy slice, fresh onion, tomato, iceberg lettuce and Veke mayonnaise

Naughty BRGR Beyond Vegan: grilled Beyond Meat® steak, Chipotle aioli, iceberg lettuce, pickle, tomato, deep-fried TABASCO® onion and bulgogi sauce

Burger community experts and tubett Herbalist criticized the burgers ’taste, appearance, texture, and steak.

The overwhelming winner, but also the most expensive

In the blind taste test, the overwhelming victory was achieved by Naughty BRGR Beyond Vegan burger.

Beyond Vegan collected 13 of the 15 points on offer. The jury commented on the burger as “by far the best” and “the most delicious-looking”, among other things. Burger steak was also praised as the best and is “hard to cover” according to the jury. Of the large burger chains, Burger King did best, with Rebbel Whopper garnering praise, especially for his grilled vegetable steak. Friends & Brgrsin Vegan Brgr came in third.

However, it is worth remembering that the price range of the burgers tested is ranging from a few euros to over 15 euros. The winning burger is also the most expensive in the test at a price of 15.50 euros. Second-placed Burger King’s Rebel Whopper costs € 5.95 and third-placed Friends & Brgrs Vegan Brgr costs € 8.

Tubettaja Herbalist and other jurors recommend trying out a variety of vegetarian burgers.

– Over the years, burgers have evolved wildly and there are many options. From a mixer to a mixer, yes there is something for everyone. For example, the meat substitute Beyond Meat may not be open to everyone, but then you can jump into Friends & Brgrs’ seed-filled vegetable steak, which tastes more like vegetarian food, comments Herbalist.
