Carolina Hurricanes reached the NHL playoffs when the team knocked out the New York Rangers 3-0 in the qualifiers.
Carolina played a great game led by Sebastian Aho, although the team lineup lacked two tough class defenders, Dougie Hamilton and Brett Pesce.
In terms of the quarterfinals, however, Carolina’s player situation is starting to look better as Hamilton returned to hurricane training strength on Thursday. Presumably the skilled defender will be fit to play when the semi-finals start next week.
At the same time, it may know a smaller role for Sami Vatanen. Vatanen played against Rangers in Carolina’s No. 1 pair and No. 1 superiority. The Finn was an important factor for Carolina when she scored 0 + 3 in three matches.
However, Hamilton is the NHL’s best offensive defenders, which is why he grabs Vatanen’s role. Hamilton hit 14 goals and 40 power points in the regular season 47 matches.
The Canadian star was badly injured in the winter, and more than half a year has passed since his last match.
