The Winnipeg Jets will play back against the wall on Thursday in the qualifying round of the NHL League hockey league. The Jets still don’t know if it will get their two key players into a vital match.
Winnipeg lost their star striker Patrik Laine and Mark Scheifele to ill in the first match against Calgary Flames last Saturday. Laine and Scheifele have been on the sidelines for the last two matches.
– We didn’t take much of our team on the ice today because the guys played on consecutive days (Monday and Tuesday). We have a better idea of the situation when we go to the ice on Thursday morning, Winnipeg head coach Paul Maurice said on the NHL website.
Calgary leads the match with 2-1 victories. Winnipeg would now be in dire need of Laine and Scheifele, or else the summer vacation may well begin as early as Thursday. Information about the fate of the duo just has to wait.
– I don’t know the answer yet. This is a completely medical thing. Doctors take care of this. If we get the guy on the ice (Thursday morning), then he’s much closer to fitness, of course, but I don’t have that information before Thursday, Maurice ran on the Winnipeg website.
