Racing Point’s F1 team is doomed to lose 15 MM points and pay € 400,000 in fines for breaking the brakes in their car.

An investigation into the car in the English stable was launched earlier after Renault complained to the FIA about the brake channels on Racing Point, which were allegedly copied from the stable’s partner Mercedes.

Although the FIA initially declared the copying of Racing Point legal, a new penalty for technical solutions for the brakes was now sent to the stable.

The FIA outlined that Racing Point had used irregular brakes in both the Hungarian and English races.

The penalty was a loss of 7.5 points for each car, a total loss of 15 MM points for the team. In addition, the English will also have to shell out 400,000 euros in fines.

Prior to its sanctions, Racing Point was sixth in the manufacturers ’World Cup with 27 points. A recent penalty dropped the team to 12 points, which justifies only seventh place.
