Helsinki IFK opened its season on Friday in the traditional Lace Tournament.

The HIFK tournament ended in Rauma for the semi-finals.

HIFK won Tappara 2-1 in the first block, but lost 0-2 to TPS. In the semi-final, Vaasa Sport was stronger by goals 2-0 and dropped out of the HIFK tournament.

HIFK played in the tournament without their foreigners. Johan Motin, Sebastian Dyk and Alex Broadhurst were still in corona quarantine.

HIFK’s No. 1 chain was built around the young NHL promise Anton Lundell. In addition to Lundell, Ville Leskinen and Teemu Tallberg played in it.

– It was a good and functional chain, but it has not yet been locked for the League. Here is still a couple of months to reflect and turn the line-ups, HIFK head coach Jarno Pikkarainen said To Helsingin Sanomat.
