Man badly burned in Somero fire died in hospital – girlfriend suspected of setting fire to a detached house

A man injured in a fire in a detached house in Somero yesterday has died, says the police in southwestern Finland.

The man who lived in the house was transported to the hospital yesterday after being badly burned. According to police, the hospital learned this morning that the man had died from injuries sustained in the fire.

Police suspect the fire was intentionally set on fire. The act is suspected of being a female friend of a resident of the house, police say.

Police are preliminarily investigating the act as a homicide.
