Kati Myllymäki, Executive Director of the Finnish Medical Association, said in Uutisaamu that concerns about the corona situation are swelling moment by moment. He thinks the mask recommendation should be given immediately.

The deteriorating coronavirus situation worries the Medical Association. At the moment, a significant question arises as to whether the interest rate restrictions have been lifted too early.

Myllymäki has also noticed that indifference and carelessness towards the corona is growing at the population level. When no corona is observed in the immediate circle, the crisis is thought to be over.

– This is not over yet, Myllymäki says.

He considers the use of face masks to be an important tool in the fight against coronavirus, although the subject has generated conflicting research data.

There is no legal basis for mask escape in Finland.

A mask recommendation is needed immediately

One thing left Myllymäki particularly concerned about yesterday’s press conference on the coronavirus situation at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

– It is expected that the epidemic of this would expand, and then only perhaps a mask recommendation will be issued. Maskithan would be one way to slow the spread of the epidemic, he sums up.

Myllymäki strongly believes that all adults should wear masks before the epidemic accelerates further. There is no time to waste.

– I think a mask recommendation could be given now, he says.
