The FIA ruled on Friday that the F1 team at Racing Point’s car was against the rules and reduced the team’s points.
In addition to this, the garage received fines, but it has come as a surprise that the garage was still allowed to keep the irregular parts, i.e. the brake cooling system, in its car.
Racing Point has used brake cooling tubes in its car, which it has purchased from Mercedes over the past season. For this season, however, the purchase of parts was banned, so Racing Point should have built the pipes itself.
The FIA ruling has caused outrage in other stables.
